The Toledo Museum of Art will open the Glass Pavilion with a week of
festivities beginning August 22nd.
The building was designed by Tokyo-based architects Sejima and
Nishizawa and Associates (SANAA) and is the first building of its kind
in the United States. The Glass Pavilion features exterior and most
interior walls made almost entirely of curved glass.
While there were a number of challenges from a security perspective
because of the material used in construction, Layne Consultants
International was able to meet those challenges.
Toledo's glass collection has been off view for more than three years
and will now be seen in conjunction with the inauguration of the Glass
Pavilion.
Colleagues are invited to visit at any time. Contact Tim Szczepanski,
