        Topic:  The Growing Problem of Fakes and Forgeries in American Art
        Speaker:  Theodore E. Stebbins, Jr., Curator of American Art, Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University
       
Dr. Stebbins will discuss problematic works by various artists and raise provocative issues relating to connoisseurship, authentication, and the circulation of fakes in the art market.
 
Q&A and refreshments will follow the talk.
 
Space is limited and advance reservations with payment are essential.
 
The program is free to IFAR Member/Supporters; Reduced rate ($15)  for IFAR Journal subscribers and full-time students; and $25 to the General Public.

IFAR is a not-for-profit educational and research organization established in 1969 and headquartered in New York. It works at the intersection of art scholarship, art law, and the public interest. IFAR has hosted IFAR Evenings since 1981. These are informal lectures and panels on topics related to IFAR's core areas, including: art authenticity, ownership, theft, law and ethics. Several IFAR Evenings are scheduled each year. In addition to IFAR Evenings, IFAR also organizes conferences and symposia.
