Anger over theft at war memorial

MEMBERS of the Royal British Legion were angry to discover thieves have
taken stone vases from Buckingham's war memorial.
It is thought the memorial, in the grounds of SS Peter and Paul's Church,
was targeted last weekend. Three of the four corner stone vases which hold
Remembrance Day flowers were taken. Other damage has also been caused
recently with the bordering chains snapped.
Hedley Cadd, a former Gunner Commander with the Royal Artillery and a member
of the Buckingham branch of the Royal British Legion, said: "The people who
caused this damage are showing disrespect to those town residents who gave
their lives."
