Onderwerp: Hazina Exhibition: Brits African loot is an art-rage!

Hallo Alfreda Ibui,

I came across your email post while searching for 'looting of African
Artefacts'. This was sparked by my 4th visit to the Hazina exhibion
currently being held at the Nairobi Gallery by the British Museum ( I have
posted my comments on my blog, www.kenyanpoet.blogspot.com)

I am interested in starting a petition and even a peaceful demonstration
on/or before the 31st of March(the closing day of the exhibition)
protesting the return of the artefacts which as supposedly owned by the
British museum is temporarily loaned to the Kenya National Museum for the
duration of the Exhibition.

I believe that unless ordinary Kenyans stand up and fight to retain the
artefacts, our government or even art bodies in Kenya will not do anything
about it as they do now want to 'bite the hand that feeds them'.

I need all the help I can get to mobilise an effective petition and
awareness to Kenyans on what the exhibition signifies to us and our culture.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.
