BOULDER - Police are investigating a theft from a local art gallery, and the
owner of the gallery says it was all caught on tape.

The owner of SmithKlein Gallery, Deborah SmithKlein, says she was surprised
when she saw the video.

She said one can clearly see a family: mother, father, possibly a
grandmother, and two children during the ordeal.

"The family that shoplifts together stays together," SmithKlein said.

Gallery employee Lize Brittin, who worked Sunday when the theft occurred,
says on the video you can see the woman grabbing the sculpture and putting
it in the stroller.

"She's going to reach in around from the back and grab it, she's got a hold
of it, there she's grabbing again and now they've put it in the stroller,"
said Brittin.

The stolen sculpture was done by a Utah artist Jeannine Young and was called
"Stolen Moments."

"They brought their family and not only that but it appears to be a
grandmother, knew what was going on, came over and took the children away
from the area," said SmithKlein. "If you're going to go out for a day to
shoplift, just go by yourself."

SmithKlein says the sculpture is worth $1,800. She will have to reimburse
Young for her work.

SmithKlein is offering a $500 reward to help solve the theft.

Boulder Police say it's too early in their investigation to definitively say
who took the art work.
