Registration Deadline Nearing for the International Foundation for Cultural
Property Protection Annual Conference, Seminar, Exhibits &Certification
Program.
The International Foundation for Cultural Property Protection’s Ninth Annual
Conference will be held in Winston-Salem, NC October 14-18, hosted by the
Reynolda House, Museum of American Art. We are very excited about this unique
opportunity to explore a new and outstanding cultural community. The theme for
this year's big event will be "Keeping Up with the Times - A Higher Level of
Learning."
The 2007 conference will run 3 full days, plus a special post-conference
security excursion to the Biltmore Estate. In addition to several timely new
general sessions, we will be adding a whole new dimension to management training
with the CIPM II certification program. This advanced study course for
administrators, managers, directors, and other professionals, will feature a wide range
of expanded special subjects.
Conference attendees will be welcomed to the area in an opening reception on
Sunday October 14 at the Marriott Winston-Salem. Educational sessions and
special programs begin the morning of October 15, running through the afternoon
of October 17. Special tours include a reception and security exercise at the
Reynolda House Museum of American Art, and a special tour and dinner at Old
Salem. On Thursday, October 18, the group travels to the Biltmore Estate for an
exclusive tour of the winery and other facilities, including a special
security tour.
Almost too much to take advantage of, attendees may complete requirements for
Certified Institutional Protection Manager (CIPM I, CIPM II), attend special
presentations by leading national and international authorities, participate
in several field excursions, and network with the leading professionals in
cultural property protection.
The conference opens with a special session presented by Lieutenant Colonel
Joseph A. Ruffini, retired army intelligence specialist and author of "When
Terror Comes to Main Street," Returning for another dynamic performance is
former ASIS International President, Steve Milwee, CPP, along with several new
faces...and only the best programs available anywhere, as is the tradition with
IFCPP!
